On February 13th, 1974, her Royal Highness, Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, came to the Lyceum Ballroom in London, England to present the “Carl-Alan” Awards. The Carl-Alan Awards are presented annually to individuals for outstanding contribution to the popular entertainment field in Great Britain. John Monte of Miami, Florida is the only American to receive this honor for his contributions to the revival of “Touch Dancing” here in the U.S.A.
